This pillow is made of vintage, hand dyed indigo fabric from west Africa. Natural linen and an exposed antique brass zipper at the seam compliment the back. Due to the handmade nature of the fabric, small imperfections may be visible.
Each limited edition indigo pillow comes with a heavy down insert and removable cotton muslin inside cover.

Provenance: Indigo was the foundation of numerous textile traditions throughout West Africa. For centuries the ability to transform everyday white cotton into prized deep blue cloth was a mysterious and highly valuable skill passed on by craftsman from generation to generation. Indigo cloth signified wealth, abundance and fertility.
